Chitra and Her Family
After living in Mumbai for the last 2yrs and 15yrs in Dubai before that, Chitra and her family landed in Brisbane in March 2019.
One day on a winter evening in May 2019, Chitra was trying to find some Home Decor in Brisbane but couldn’t find any Classy ones. She finally had to order the items from overseas and the same exercise repeated when she wanted to gift something to her friends and again when she wanted to buy a small Idol for her Altar.
Over and over again, she realised that bringing things from overseas markets was the only way forward. How could she fulfil her passion of gifting when she couldn’t get classy things locally.
- Asmi was conceptualised and founded in May 2019 at Brisbane, Queensland- Australia.
Foundation of Asmi
- There are 4 Veda’s in Hindu philosophy and each veda has 1 Mahavakya (ultimate discourse)
- Asmi originates from the Yajur Veda Mahavakya : “Ahm Brahm Asmi”
- Ahm BrahmaAsmi means : I am That / I am God
- Asmi – means “Am”
- Asmi- the only word that joins I with the ultimate reality(God)
- The name that says it All. It is the simple present form of the verb “to be”
Principles of Asmi
The customer is a God.
Chitra – the founder is a staunch Advait Vedantan. She strongly believes and lives by the values of her spiritual master (Sw.Chinmayananda).
She offers her service to the society by helping people globally to live by and understand the values of Sh.Bh.Geeta and be a good human and a better citizen.
She conducts free zoom classes conducted 3 days a week for serious seekers from different time zones.
